We are seeking a Director in Banking to join our client to lead their consulting engagements within the Nordic financial services market. This is an ideal role for an experienced consulting professional with deep expertise in the banking sector and a strong track record of delivering strategic transformation projects. As a Director, you will oversee large-scale consulting projects, foster relationships with senior banking executives, and drive growth in our Nordic Banking practice. This position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in banking transformation, digital innovation, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building: Establish and nurture trusted relationships with senior banking executives across the Nordic region, acting as a strategic advisor on critical industry issues.
  • Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead and manage complex consulting projects, overseeing the full project lifecycle from scoping to delivery. Ensure high-quality execution on strategic initiatives such as digital transformation, regulatory compliance, operational improvement, and risk management.
  • Strategic Transformation: Drive transformational change for banking clients, helping them navigate industry challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities in areas such as fintech integration, customer experience, and sustainability.
  • Regulatory Advisory: Advise clients on evolving Nordic and EU regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance while aligning operations to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Digital Innovation & Data Strategy: Guide clients in leveraging digital technologies, data analytics, and automation to optimize banking processes, improve customer service, and create new growth avenues.
  • Business Development & Practice Growth: Identify new business opportunities within the banking sector, develop proposals, and participate in pitches to grow our consulting presence in the Nordics.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the firm in the Nordic banking market by contributing to thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, and industry events to strengthen our brand and influence.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, coach, and develop a team of consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the banking practice.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in management consulting or banking, with extensive experience working on transformation projects within the banking sector in the Nordics.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the Nordic banking industry, including regulatory landscapes, digital trends, and market dynamics.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proven track record of leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects, with strong project management skills and experience delivering impactful client outcomes.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to develop data-driven insights and strategic recommendations for banking clients.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Education: Master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; an MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are advantageous.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English required, with additional proficiency in a Nordic language preferred.
  • Flexibility & Mobility: Willingness to travel within the Nordics as required by client engagements.
